this week i focused on architecture. as i walked around my neighbourhood in search of inspiration, i saw beautiful houses that looked warm and inviting despite the cold. however, these houses felt...private. i didn't feel right taking photos of someone's home, no matter how beautiful it was. as i continued my walk i began to notice graffiti on abandoned structures; i was immediately enamoured with the way that these spaces became canvases for art, so i set out to capture it this week. opposed to such a private place like someone's home, this graffiti is made intently with the purpose of the public seeing it. it felt right to capture it the best way i found possible.

in editing these photos, i purposely increased the saturation so that the colours would pop and focused on colour balance as well, attempting to balance out the whites, greys and blues of the snow and sky. other than that, i let the photos speak for themselves; this week it felt like my job as a photographer to rightly capture art, rather than be the artist myself.
